Lead a Country Club
Become the Chairperson for G100 Media Arts & Communication in Your Country. As a powerful position of privilege and prominence, you get to energise and empower the collective cause of women in the Media Arts & Communication sector.
About the Country Club
What is a Country Club?
A Country Club is a 100 member sister circle of Connection, Coalition and Collaboration in a country. In order to accomplish our global mission of empowerment for all women, we must extend leadership across the world and create sister circles and support networks in different countries to elevate women in Media Arts & Communication.
The Role of Country Chair
The Country Chair provides direction for each Country Club, but all members are equally custodians of our caring culture and co-creation of change. Here are the responsibilities of the Country Chair...
- The Country Chair will appoint and set up her Country Advisory Council (CAC). She will use the global structure to appoint 'Country Directors' for her country club.
- The Country Chair and CAC will gradually build a club circle of 100 sisters by inviting women who are media arts professionals/practitioners via reference and invitation. Membership in the sector wing is strictly by reference and recommendation only (already invited sector members can make a recommendation or reference and invite their friends and colleagues into the chapter circle).
- Country Chair & CAC will manage front-facing social media pages for their Country Club by sharing content or important information/ events updates for the chapter. Our G100-MAC Global pages (@g100mediaarts) will cross-promote in support and solidarity.
- Country Chair will welcome new chapter members on Social Media by sharing their Member Flier and Brief Profile/Bio on dedicated Country Club pages.
- G100 Secretariat and G100-MAC Global office will provide technical support for the Flier Designs and Collaterals, as well as feature stories on Sheconomy and other technical support you might need.
- Discussions, Events and Meetings will be held online in our G100-MAC community platform (inside our dedicated G-Hub) or in-person meetups, should Country Chair and her core team see it necessary.
- Each Country Club will have its own Group/Circle where they can connect and have private meetings and chat online (inside our G100-MAC Community) but still be part of the bigger main global community to network with other country chapters.
- The Country Chair and her Advisory Council will meet monthly for Chapter Meetings.
- Country Chair Meetings will hold Bi-Monthly, every last Sunday at 5 pm GMT (please look at the local time in your country). Global Meetings (for all country chapters & directors + coordinators and ambassadors) will hold Quarterly every last Sunday at 5 pm GMT.
- The Country Chair and her Country Advisory Council will decide events specifically designed for her Chapter.
- The Country Chair and her team are free to develop ideas for collaborative events that will benefit the chapter and women within our sector wing globally.
- Founding Country Clubs have automatic inclusion into our Global Media Arts Festival (G100-MAC Fest) Planning Committee with priority selection for "Host Country" bidding. The Country Chair for the host country will lead the planning committee as our Chief Host for that year.

Distributed Leadership
How We Function with Free Membership
G100 Chapter Chair Roles are Honorary and Voluntary. They do not carry any compensation.
Membership to G100-MAC is Free. Since we are a large network-based non-profit organisation that does not charge any membership fee, we don’t have any corpus of funds.
For chapter functioning, we rely on the "picnic-model" - where each one pool in whatever they can. There’s always something - a kind gesture, an insight, sharing of experiences, giving encouragement, providing a connection or a reference. Expenses of the main G100 Secretariat are funded by the Founder, the G100-MAC Global operations are funded by the Global Chair (while donations and sponsorship are being solicited for bigger annual projects).
In our experience, chapters always find innovative formats to “make it happen”—going Dutch, finding sponsors/partners, using homes or offices of one’s company by turns, use of free social media platforms, etc.
Importantly, when we ALL pool in our strengths, skills and resources, this innovative path helps build our resourcefulness and leadership capabilities. We realise that together We Can Do It ALL! This is in line with the entire concept of distributed leadership.
